Steven, Age 17

Steven, or “Scoopy,” as he’s known, chose to have a shopping spree as his wish because he wanted some new electronics and clothes. He was accompanied on his wish by his mother, father and his two siblings. It was a wonderful day for Scoopy and his family. He thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience, from the limo ride to the shopping. His favorite purchase was a 46” flat-screen TV for his bedroom.

 All of the people Scoopy came in contact with on his wish were so kind and positive, and they touched his heart. He was really excited and he felt special, like a celebrity. His mother spoke of how awesome the Make-A-Wish volunteers were, which further added to Scoopy and his family’s experience. The wish had a big impact on Scoopy; it gave him hope and a positive outlook on his future, and it opened his heart and made him want to help others who are unable to help themselves. Scoopy wants to share his experience with others and hopes to become a doctor one day.
